Kotaro Watari (亘理 光太郎, Watari Kōtarō) is a character in Bakuten!!. Kotaro was born in Miyagi and is a member of the Ao High School boys' rhythmic gymnastics team. He is currently in his second year of high school.
Biography[]
Kotaro joined the men's rhythmic gymnastics team when he first entered Ao High School. Captivated after witnessing his seniors' backflips, he entered the team as one of its youngest members at the time. He's currently the only second-year gymnast of the club, and he specializes in handstand holds.
Appearance[]
Kotaro has mid-length green hair with a shorter, darker green undercut. His pupils are small and are also a green color. His eyebrows are slanted and almost always furrowed, adding to his intimidating appearance.
He sports a blue and white tracksuit completely unzipped worn over a green hoodie when he's outside of the gym or clubroom. During practice, he wears a white long-sleeve topped with a yellow shirt paired with black shorts atop dark blue leggings. His signature accessories are a headband and his piercings.
Personality[]
Though short-tempered and often exuding an intimidating aura, Kotaro actually has a caring and fun personality. True to his image, however, Kotaro has quite an intense disposition, and expresses his enthusiasm by exclaiming loudly.
While he scares his juniors, he is very respectful to his seniors. He acknowledges his errors and always profusely apologizes to them.

- The name Kotaro means "light" (光) (ko), "thick, big" (太) (ta) and "son" (郎) (ro).
- Kotaro's surname Watari means "span, request" (亘) (wata) and "reason, logic" (理) (ri).
